RaininBow Website Redesign

Empower small business through digital marketing

Rainin’ Bow is a local press-on nail business based in the Greater Cincinnati area. As the business continues to grow, the need for an independent website became clear to support both expansion and brand storytelling. We began by interviewing key stakeholders to define the website’s objectives and basic structure. Following an in-depth discussion of the marketing strategy, we developed the information architecture and used the Wix platform to build the final website. This project also served as a case study in digital marketing instruction during my role at Hawaii Pacific University.

About Rainin’ Bow

Rainin’ Bow is a local press-on nail business based in the Greater Cincinnati area, specializing in customized press-on nails and seasonal nail subscription services. The company’s primary revenue has traditionally come from offline weekend marketplaces. However, with rapid growth and increasing demand for online inquiries, Rainin’ Bow has decided to enhance its online presence to scale the business.

Goals

Website Redesign

Rainin’ Bow’s previous website, built on Shopify, primarily functioned as a platform for inventory checking and online order placement. Based on a brief interview with front-line sales staff and a review of the company’s business strategy, we identified the following objectives for the new website:

Online Storytelling
Communicate the brand’s story and values more effectively.
Customization & Customer Connection
Support personalized orders and streamline customer inquiries.
Event Notification & Engagement
Announce upcoming events and foster customer connection.

User Types

Based on previous sales data, we identified two main customer types—first-time visitors from Instagram or search engines, and returning customers from offline events—and designed website features accordingly, including:
- A Customization Page (with process overview and submission form)
- A Storytelling Page (featuring the brand story and product highlights)
- A Product Display section (with size selection and categorized browsing).

Customization Process

By adding graphics and divide the process step by step, making the customization process easier and straightforward

Outcome

Full function E-commerce Website

The website is scheduled to launch on July 1, 2025 (domain: www.raininbow.com)
