Redesign the online vehicle shopping experience

Vehicles play an important role for the American family. Also, the vehicle will accompany them for a long time, which makes vehicle selection and purchase more crucial. According to the data from Zabra, over half of Americans (54%) would love the ability to buy or sell a car without ever leaving home; 49% of Millennial women report feeling tricked into buying additional, unnecessary features, compared to 34% of Millennial men.With the trend that online vehicle shopping becoming increasingly popular, How can CarGurus create a better online shopping experience for customers through design?

As we become more dependent on appliances, we are often burdened by the very conveniences these devices offer. Can meaningful interactions reshape the relationship between users and devices?How might we make chores more delightful?

In order to better understand user’s needs and find the gap within the vehicle purchase, several interviews were conducted. Along with the interaction, different user journeys are created. By using qualitative coding method, several themes were created and presented through this final journey map.

Based on the primary and secondary research findings, I did a brainstorming by Miro board. Some featured concepts were generated like: Picture Identification, Feature Explanation, and Heuristic Background etc.
